Feel Supported with Independence Blue Cross

For many people, December 15 is the deadline to choose a health plan that starts January 1. When you’re considering your options, the first thing to look at is how much coverage each plan offers and how much it will cost.

As an Independence Blue Cross (Independence) member, you have access to many valuable support services that make your life a little easier, at no additional cost to you. Here are some examples.

Personalized Health Support

Registered Nurse Health Coaches are available 24/7 to answer your health questions. Among other things, they can provide an extra layer of support to people who have serious chronic health conditions, or during and after pregnancy.

Mental Health Resources

Sometimes we may need support to improve our emotional or behavioral health. Talking to the right therapist can make a huge difference. But finding that person when you need them isn’t always easy or fast.

Quartet* helps Independence members locate an in-network mental health care provider who fits their needs. You can also talk to your primary care doctor for help finding mental health providers and resources.

Weight Management

Losing weight isn’t always as simple as just deciding to follow a diet. But as an Independence member, you have access to Wondr Health — a digital behavioral counseling program that can help you manage your weight, reduce your diabetes risk, and reverse metabolic syndrome.

Family Care

Independence members can use the Ovia Health suite of apps to get daily personalized support with women’s health issues, family building, pregnancy, parental well-being, and children’s health. Because parenting doesn’t come with an instruction manual.

24/7 Benefits Information and Member Tools

At home or on the go, Independence members always have access to their benefits information and member tools at or by using the free IBX mobile app. These resources make it easy to:

  • View, print, or send member ID cards
  • Access plan information like claims, spending, and benefits
  • Find a nearby in-network doctor or hospital
  • Estimate costs for care
  • Price a prescription medication

Members can also sign up to get important plan notifications, health screening reminders, and cost-saving tips by email or text.

In-Person Benefits Assistance

Independence Customer Service representatives are ready to help you with any questions about your health plan, such as your benefits or your claims. Just call the number on the back of your member ID card or ask to see a representative at Independence LIVE, 1919 Market St., 2nd floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
