Ready to get started? Here are some steps to help you start the year right.
1. Register for 24/7 access to your benefits information
All the information you need is right at your fingertips. When you log in at ibx.com or through our free mobile app, you can view your Independence Blue Cross health plan benefits in detail, search for doctors and hospitals, estimate costs for care, and view and pay your bill.
You also get access to our value-added programs, like On To Better Health to support your emotional well-being and the College Tuition Benefit™ for those helping a student pay for college.
It’s quick and easy to register at ibx.com. Just be sure to have your member ID number handy.
2. Make your first payment
Before you can use your benefits, you need to make your first payment. We offer several convenient ways to pay your bill.
Some members may need to make their first payment before they receive their member ID card(s). Need your member ID card(s) fast after making your first payment? Simply log in at ibx.com and select the Print, Send, or View All option under the image of your ID card.
3. Connect with us by email or text
Sign up to get personalized health screening reminders, important plan notifications, and alerts about member-exclusive savings and discounts. Visit ibx.com/getconnected and choose to receive messages by text, email, or both.
4. Find a doctor in your network
When you need to find an in-network doctor or other health care provider near you, our Find a Doctor tool makes it easy. Be sure to enter your location, select your health plan, and choose how you want to search (for example, by doctor name, specialty, or type of provider).
If you have a Keystone Health Plan East HMO, HMO Proactive, or POS health plan, remember that you need to choose a primary care physician (PCP). To select or change your PCP, log in at ibx.com and use the link on the home page under My Primary Care Physician.
5. Register for telemedicine from MDLIVE
Need to talk to a doctor fast? Save time and money by avoiding the ER or urgent care when it’s not an emergency. Skip the waiting room and talk to a doctor through telemedicine instead. With telemedicine from MDLIVE, you can reach a board-certified doctor by video chat or phone — anytime, anywhere in the U.S.
Activate your MDLIVE account before you get sick using your member ID number. Once you’ve activated your account, you’re just minutes away from a virtual visit, diagnosis, and any necessary prescriptions sent to your pharmacy.
6. Achieve your health goals and save money
Your health and well-being goals are unique to you. Use our personalized Achieve Well-being tools to make it easier to reach your goals, whether you’re looking to eat healthier, cope with stress better, be more active, manage a chronic condition, or just get some more sleep. Start by completing your Well-being Profile, which you can access when you log in at ibx.com under the Health & Well-being menu at the top.
As a member, you also have access to member perks that can help you get fit, eat well, save money, and have fun on the cheap. Check out our member-exclusive discounts, reimbursements, and personal support.*
